The looming 2015/16 BPL season is approaching with a bang…
It is back, the country’s most exciting individual league the BPL is back with a bang. It is now bigger and three times the fun, we now have the Premier, First and Second Divisions and pool has never been more exciting than this! One thing we have realised however is that more important than our players are the supporters, in fact the supporters are the BPL and it’s about time they got rewarded and how best to express our gratitude than to put a few thousands up for grabs. Did I say a few oops I meant tens of thousands of Mandelas, how does R50, 000.00 sound to you? Yep, half a century just for our loyal supporters simply for pledging their allegiance to the most exciting league in the country.
The Billiards Premier League presents to you the BPL Super Supporters Competition where the fans battle it out for the ultimate prize of being crowned the Super Supporter at the Arnold Classic next year. The format is simple and fun; it accommodates all skill levels, for the first time one ball can be all that you need to pot to get to the coveted prize. The shot is called the Ball in One, it simply means that you get one shot to pot one ball frozen on the top rail at the center of the table with the cue ball at the center of the bulk line directly in line with that frozen ball, there is only one rule to the concept; NO RULES APPLY!
I got your jaws dropping there for a second didn’t I? And no this is not a joke it is a call to all the fans to come out in their numbers and paint the town red. With the help of the players, fans will be grouped into schools of 16 daring enthusiasts for each of their favourite player’s 9 home matches. 2 players qualify from each of the 1st 8 matches, no new qualifiers will be determined on the 9th and final home match but all the previous qualifiers get to meet for the grand finale and the eventual winner gets to travel, yes they get to fly to the BPL annual ultimate knockout tournament not as a caddy but as a competitor for the ultimate fan R50k total purse with a first prize of a branded United King Pool table. This is an absolutely exiting adventure for a next to nothing initial entry fee of R50! The next knockout tournament will be in Sandton at the Arnold Classic and the former Mr Universe himself will grace us with his presence and the BPL is honored to be part of this prestigious event. Nobody walks back home empty handed, all the super fans from all over the country will get R1000 each just at hello, all 30 of them that is and there will be loads of other prizes on offer. That’s how highly we value your support.
From a distance this looks unfair seeing that the players get a R10, 000.00 reward at the Arnold Classic whereas the fans get a share of R50k but think of it closely, it is actually the fans that make the players tick and behind every successful athlete are very loud diehard ubiquitous fans. Yes we need to create a ferocious vibe where the opposition dreads the fans let alone the athlete. Those of you who are married will know that players win big at times but it is always their better halves that emerge the real winners at the end of the day. The fans represent the MEN behind the Man!
