Terms & Conditions

T’s & C’s:

  1. The promoter is: Joy Billiards South Africa (Company No. 2018/219182/07) whose registered office is at Shop 4A, 17 Palmfield Road, Springfield Park, Durban, 4034.
  2. Players can qualify for car competitions through participating venues or though Joy Billiards South Africa Wild Cards. Entry fee to participate in a qualifier at participating outlets are decided by the outlets. Once a player has qualified for the car competition he / she cannot enter another qualifier for the same car competition.
  3. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via https://www.joybilliards.co.za
  4. Joy Billiards South Africa accepts no responsibility for name submissions not received by the due date for whatever reason.
  5. There will be no refunds for any entry forfeits for whatever reason.
  6. It is the responsibility of the winner of each qualifying event to attend the car competition at their own cost.
  7. The rules of the competition and the prize for each winner are as follows:
    1. It is compulsory for each participant to be present for registration, accreditation and the live draw.
    2. Should a player not be at the designated table at the start of a match, a walkover will be granted immediately. A roll on roll off system will be used and the next match will be called immediately once a table becomes available. An online scoring system will be used where the matches will be advertised and it is the responsibility of a player to follow the schedule and abide by all instructions being announced.
    3. Joy Chinese Pool Rules, in conjunction with specific tournament rules, apply.
    4. The applicable dress code will be collared shirt, formal pants and formal shoes of any colour. Waistcoat and bowtie would be preferable. Any deviation from this dress code must be approved by the Tournament Director.
    5. It is compulsory to wear the badges provided by the organiser at accreditation, in the order as prescribed by the organiser during official play.
    6. Should a player wish to display any logo/s on their attire, such player must seek approval from the organiser via email to info@cesl.co.za at least a day before the tournament. If such approval was not granted, the organiser may not allow the outfit. The attire will have to be changed before the player is permitted to participate in the event. Should the player’s match be called during the time that the attire is being changed and the player subsequently fails to report to the table at the time of the match being called, an immediate walk over will be granted against the player.
    7. The car competition will be a one frame straight knock out all the way.
    8. The lag rule applies as follows: When a player meets a top 32 ranked player, there will be no lag. The player outside the top 32 will have the option to break.
    9. The break rule will be that the top 32 ranked players will need to comply with a two-point break rule and all other players with a one-point break rule.
    10. Each match (1 Frame) will have a 10 minute cap. Should the frame not be completed within 10 minutes, play of the frame will stop and there will be an immediate sudden death penalty shootout. Should this become a tie, sudden death will follow. The 10 minutes allowed will start from the break shot
    11. The following compulsory handicap rule will be apply:
      1. The top 32 ranked players will give all other players a two-ball handicap.
      2. All male players, outside the top 32, will give all women and junior (under 18) players a one-ball handicap
    12. There will be referees at each tournament and the head referee’s call will be final and binding.
    13. Players will be required to play their matches on designated tables, as announced by the organiser. A player may not refuse to play on a designated table for whatever reason furnished.  
    14. The tournament is a one day event.
    15. The prizes will be as advertised in the tournament rules.
  8. The promoter reserves the right to amend / cancel the tournament without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event beyond the promoter’s control. Any changes to the tournament will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  9. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this tournament.
  10. The prizes are not transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. Prizes are subject to availability and the promotor reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  11. The actual prize/s may differ from the illustration and displayed product.
  12. Winners will be chosen by a straight knock out pool competition administered at the promoter’s discretion.
  13. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within seven (7) days, the promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and select a replacement winner.
  14. The promoter is required to notify the winner as to when and where the prize can be collected.
  15. The winner will be responsible for insuring the vehicle against all risks as soon as the promotor declares the winner.
  16. The promoter’s decision with regard to all matters pertaining to the tournament will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  17. By participating in this competition, a participant agrees to and accepts the terms and conditions of the tournament. Right of admission to the main event is reserved by the Promoter.
  18. The competition and it’s terms and conditions will be governed by South African law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
  19. By virtue of participating in this competition, participants consent to the use of their names and images as material for any and all publicity. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current South African data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  20. By participating in this competition, every participant understands and agrees that the promotor owns the exclusive rights to all marketing and media material generated in the preparation of the event and for the entire duration of the event.
  21. Every lessee/venue is bound by the JOY Table Leasing Policy.
  22. Venues that qualify for incentives will receive them as soon as a minimum of 4 venues qualify for the same incentive.
  23. Joy Billiards South Africa has the prerogative to use its own criteria in determining the best club/s in each of the three (3) cities (Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban)
  24. Tournaments that are scheduled for the three (3) major cities may be hosted at venues within a radius of 200km from the nominated city.
