Exciting BPL weekend ahead!!
Howdy fellaz, as your Sheriff I would like to say thank you very much to all those who came out in their numbers to support our athletes and take part in the Super Supporter Competition which is a one of a kind innovation where just one ball and just one shot could warrant you a ticket to the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic next year in Johannesburg where the annual BPL K/O cup will also be held. You could win an awesome weekend where you do not only stand a chance to win your share of R50000 in cash and prizes but you get to rub shoulders with the terminator himself. I kid you not good people, check the fixtures and ask your favourite player for details on the SSC.
This weekend promises to be a cracker as we welcome BPL Premier League debutant and a very special individual, boy turned man, multi-talented, supernatural Aden the Wonder-kid Joseph, oh and he finally turned 18 and he can now vote. He will be in very good and capable hands courtesy of Nsovo Mathonsi and Sandile Madlala, I cannot however promise that they will be gentle on the Predator. The matches this weekend could easily be the holy grail of billiards the fans will get to have their cake and also eat it. This will surely be war and as the saying goes; an eye for an eye makes the world blind but I say blows should and will be exchanged and the fans will be blessed, it is only the bookmakers who will have a headache. How do you predict a winner between Sandile/Charl or Aden/Nsovo and Sandile/Aden and Nsovo/Charl? Which match do you watch, they all start at 3pm on Saturday at Ballbreakers Weltevreden Park and Dejavous Mondeor respectively. I wish I could double-up and get my surrogate to watch the other match for me and now that’s a very heathy headache but the deputy Sheriff will be at hand to be the eyes and ears of the Billiard faithful.
Will Nsovo tame the Predator, will he be devoured, will Aden sink or swim, will he raise his hand up high, will Charl brush Legacy aside, will Sandile open his account with a bountiful win over the Assassin, I could ask 21 questions but I know pool will be the winner and we won’t be disappointed. Boys will be separated from men that’s for sure and hearts will be broken but history and records will be made or broken.
Team Nico-Ishmael last week made mockery of the Durban boys, will they continue their dominance over the coastal candidates or will the Cape Breeze be too cold for their comfort? Rushin Bowers and Keeyam Schoeman make the trip inland to represent the mother-city against a fearsome, fearless team of fast punching sharp-shooters in Nickie and Ishmael Mthethwa at Dejavous and at TimeOut respectively. The weekend just became bigger and better, I can’t wait; literally I can’t. The BPL First Division looks scary, the amount of talent is just unbelievable.
The BPL Second Division will also come to life once again but this time around the action will be in the Free State and in KZN. Zander ‘the Sniper’ Kriel will be taking on Nelson ‘Da President’ Stokwe whilst Thamsanqa ‘Rea Vaya’ Jabavu aka JBV Inc will be hosted at Swerve in Pietermaritzburg by Shameel Singh and Yacoob Shaik will join the party on Sunday to make sure that Shameel is held between a rock and a very hard place. I can’t wait for the match between Zander Kriel and Yacoob later in the season, it will look something like that movie uhmm the rise of the machines or something along those lines.
THE BPL NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!!
