Chinese Eight Ball players are you ready? Saturday the 19thof May 2018 is a just a royally blessed day isn’t it, and no I am not talking about Prince Harry and the Suites actress’ wedding, I am talking about the new big thing in the world of pool, Chinese Eight Ball (which seems to be just what the billiard doctor ordered) will be happening in Sandton Johannesburg at the Arnold Classic Africa. It is every pool player’s dream to play at a big event with huge rewards, well it doesn’t get any more rewarding than this one. One pool player out there will drive away in a Brand New D20 BAIC, and no that’s not a Bike it’s a 5 door car!!
Players can only qualify through playing in a participating venue and making the cut. Leeroy Markgraaff the winner of a car a few years back has already qualified, will he rewrite history and grab a second one? I don’t know if that’s even allowed in folklore but I can tell you now that it is perfectly legal in the pool fraternity. Ishmael Mthethwa, the winner of last event’s car is yet to qualify and he is always a hot favourite to win in any competition. Will David Anderson walk us down memory lane or will Thamsanqa Jabavu lift his hand up high, perhaps Vincent Halliday will outsmart everyone, but Nicola Rossouw is not there to just make up numbers either, do I need to mention that the evergreen Aden Joseph will also be present?
